PokerStars to Return to London for the First Time in 8 Years
PokerStars is returning to London this year. The EPT (European Poker Tour) London Festival will run from the 18th of October to the 28th of the same month. The games will include the European Horse Championship, EPT Main Event, and UKIPT events. Players at the festival also get a chance to win a spot at the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC). They also stand a chance to win one of two Platinum Passes to the exclusive $25k live game.
The EPT holding in London, UK, calls for excitement as the last London stop happened in 2014. While London had been a premier stop during the early years of the EPT, it hasn’t visited London for over eight years.
Historic Moments of the EPT in the Past Spur Excitement as It Returns to London
During the first ten years of the EPT, London was the stage for several winners of the games. These winners include UK’s David Vamplew and John Shipley. Germany’s Sebastian Pauli and Benny Spindler have also won the EPT title in the UK. One of the most unforgettable winners of the title is Victoria Coren. She was the first woman to win the title in 2006 in London, UK.
With historic moments in the British Capital such as these, there is an excitement for the EPT to return to London. The Head of Global Live Events Operations at Poker Stars, Cedric Billot, equally shares this excitement. In an interview, he says, “We’re thrilled to be heading back to London and looking forward to welcoming players from around the world to the UK.”
Billiot Is Convinced the EPT’s Stop in London This Year Will Be a Huge Success
Billot believes the EPT London 2022 will attract a massive number of players. His excitement stems from how much history PokerStars has with EPT London. He thinks high rollers and recreational players from across the globe will share this excitement as they visit the UK for the games. Billot is convinced that the EPT London Festival will be a huge success with several activities during the event.
The First EPT season in 2004 had London as a fixture. With this history, EPT London 2022 will receive a massive welcome after an eight-year hiatus. As always, there are several events on the schedule of this year’s festival. The event starts on the 18th of October, 2022, and begins with the UKIPT Main Event. This event will run from the first day to the 22nd of October. Players will battle for the title for £1,100.
Further Events on the Schedule
On the 20th of October, other events like the £1100 horse championship and the UKIPT mystery bounty cup will begin. Both events will come to a close on the 21st of October.
On the same day, the players get a shot at three high rollers. These high rollers include the £2,220 UKIPT high roller ending the following day. It also consists of the £50,000 EPT super high roller ending on the 23rd of October. The £10,300 EPT high roller starts on October 26 and ends on the 28th.
The EPT main event itself runs from the 22nd of October to the 28th of October. Among the mystery bounty tournaments taking place during the event is the EPT Platinum Pass Mystery Bounty. It will run from October 24th to October 26th.
